I can't think of a more fitting verse to describe Louie's "going home" day. Truly from the very first night with each of you praying earnestly for his life to be spared, God listened. These many voices brought Dr. Duke into the emergency room to give the highest level of skill possible. At every turn, your loving prayers allowed him to get better and better. Your part in this recovery process is of utmost importance.
I am going to revise this verse just a bit to include what has really mattered from January 28th until the present.
Stand up and go: your faith and the faith of hundreds of family, friends and strangers has saved you.
When I see him stand up from that wheelchair and step into the car to go home, I will be thinking of each of you. We can never, never thank you enough.
Love to all, Ruthie

ReplyDeleteI am so happy that you are home. My thoughts and prayers have been with you during this journey, unfortunately from 1,500 miles away from El Campo.

I am THRILLED for you Louie and I am thrilled for your SUPER family. I have been following your medical situation since meeting your wonderful family at Hermann back in early March and from home here in Sugar Land since my wife's release in mid April. We were all pulling hard for you Louie.
ReplyDeleteYou know this already but I have to say it and say it LOUD and CLEAR! You have an angel, a wonderful angel, watching over you and protecting you right here on earth and that is your LOVING with Ruthie! She is amazing. AMAZING! I can still picture her setting up her sleeping area in the waiting room, covering completely up, and then getting up early each morning when the cleaning lady came, scurrying off to the restroom to fix up, and then joining us all with her big smile and upbeat approach to everything. She is really something. I'd see her throughout the day, every day, visiting with you, talking to Dr. Duke here and there, in the cafeteria, etc. She was an inspiration for us all.
I actually rode my motorcycle down to El Campo two weeks ago and rode around town thinking of you and Ruthie. Knowing you are a farmer I rode out 71 a bit and headed back north on a really neat FM road that meandered through farms. I was hoping to see a sign that said 'Ruthie and Louie's place', but knew my chances were slim. lol I felt you though! I enjoyed that ride so much that I rode home, asked my wife if she would like to take a nice drive, and we both went on the same route, in a van this time!
My wife, and my three grown daughters who all met and love Ruthie, have been following your blog as well. We'll never forget Ruthie and you, the wonderful folks from El Campo in 'bed 1'! Best of luck to all of you. Mike Crowley, Sugar Land, Texas
Though we have never met, I have also kept you in my prayers. Your strength, patience and faith have inspired me to pray for you, and for others who face life's challenges. I will join with so many in offering thanks to God for His many blessings, especially that you are home. Prayers will continue, and I hope Louis continues to improve.
ReplyDeleteI just heard about Louis getting to come home!! What an answer to prayers. God bless you Ruthie, as well as your family, for your enduring strength and faith.
