In Surgery

Back to surgery this morning around 7:30

Mom had the chance to talk to Dr. Duke yesterday evening, and his plan is to graft again this morning. We were a bit surprised by this, but apparently a light bulb went off in his head and he came up with a slightly different game plan. He has found some "material" and he plans to build somewhat of a ledge in attempt to minimize leaking onto the graft. I'm sure it's not as easy as it sounds, but this ledge idea sounds good to us! We aren't sure which leg he plans to take skin from (there is possibly some left to take on the leg he used last time), but it's nice to hear he's trying something a bit different and hopefully this time it will work!!! I'll try to update again later when we know something. Our PA (who tends to be our main source of contact) is off today, so we'll have to wait and see if Dr. Duke himself comes by to give a report.
