Weekend Update

The weekend didn’t go as planned at all, and we are still waiting for Saturday’s surgery… which has been rescheduled for this morning. Saturday was supposed to be the day we found out the fate of the middle graft, however there were many other traumas Saturday morning even though Dr. Duke waited all day for an available O.R. he was never able to get dad in.

This was frustrating considering dad had already had a really rough night on Friday where he nor mom got any sleep. Between a blocked catheter, a collapsed IV, veins that would not cooperate with blood draws, and a malfunctioning wound vac, the night was quite a disaster.

Today we hope he does go to surgery very soon, and we pray that the top of the graft is still intact. I’ll update again later when we know more.

  1. Ruthie and family,

If anyone has spare moments to read, I wanted let you know of a book I just finished called "90 Minutes in Heaven" by Don Piper. It's an amazing story of faith and recovery, and it's a really easy read.

Thank you for the continued updates. As always, you are all in our prayers.
