Day #14, Surgery #11

Dad will go back to surgery today. We are praying that the trach will be done soon, because the tube down dad's throat is really agitating him. The trach would decrease the risk of infection and hopefully make him a little more comfortable.

According to today's labs his liver seems to be doing slightly better and his platelets are up. (which is good - at times they've been very, very low) His white blood cell count was up a bit today, but they are treating that with antibiotics. We continue to pray that dad may be rid of infection so the rest of his body may start to heal.

  1. Hang in there Tracy. Your family has come so far and I know the road appears very long at this point, but your faith and love will continue to carry you.

  2. Footprints in the Sand

One night I dreamed I was walking along the beach with the Lord. Many scenes from my life flashed across the sky.

In each scene I noticed footprints in the sand. Sometimes there were two sets of footprints, other times there was one only.

This bothered me because I noticed that during the low periods of my life, when I was suffering from anguish, sorrow or defeat, I could see only one set of footprints, so I said to the Lord,

    “You promised me Lord,
that if I followed you, you would walk with me always. But I have noticed that during the most trying periods of my life there has only been one set of footprints in the sand. Why, when I needed you most, have you not been there for me?”

The Lord replied, “The years when you have seen only one set of footprints, my child, is when I carried you.”

Ruthie, please know we are all praying for Louis and you. Your faith is built on a strong rock and it will carry you through this dark time.

  3. I found this bible verse the other day during adoration and thought that I would share it with yall.

    Romans 5:1-5

" Therefore, since we have been justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ. Through him we have also obtained access by faith into this grace in which we stand, and we rejoice in hope of the glory of God. More than that, we rejoice in our sufferings, knowing that suffering produces endurance, and endurance produces character, and character produces hope, and hope does not put us to shame, because God’s love has been poured into our hearts through the Holy Spirit who has been given to us"

I've been praying daily, and will continue to do so!!
