Friday Notes

No major changes in condition. Surgery revealed some further dead tissue in the right abdominal wound which was removed. They think this may have caused some of the skin discoloration on his chest and abdomen. The doctors were a little concerned of further infection in this area, but a CT scan ruled out any need for immediate intervention. They hope the antibiotics and continued wash outs should take care of the local infection.

His kidneys are doing a little worse necessatitating continual dialysis, while his liver seems to have stabilized. Overall, Louie is still very sick but he has not suffered any significant setbacks.

  1. God, you are the Lord who sees all (Genesis 16:7-14). You see the places in Louie's body that need removing, healing and cleansing. Thank you for directing the surgeons to these areas. Continue to guide them and give them wisdom to care for Louie and to see the places that require treatment. Please watch over Louie's kidneys and liver and restore them to health. Please prevent any infection from setting in. Thank you for keeping Louie safe in your arms.

"I lift up my eyes to the hills -- where does my help come from? My help comes from the Lord, the Maker of heaven and earth. He will not let your foot slip -- he who watches over you will not slumber; indeed, he who watches over Israel will neither slumber nor sleep. The Lord watches over you -- the Lord is your shade at your right hand; the sun will not harm you by day, nor the moon by night. The Lord will keep you from all harm -- he will watch over your life; the Lord will watch over your coming and going both now and forever." (Psalm 121)

Our family continues to pray for Louie and his family.
